Utiliser le PAST PERFECT  (have au preterit + p. passé)

il s'utilise pour décrire une action antérieure à celle déjà énoncée.

ex : past perfect -------> preterit ----------> présent

1- I didn't go to the party because I had not received the invitation.

2- We didn't go to the restaurant because we had spent all our pocket money.

-

3- The barbecue didn't take place because it had rained the day before.

-

4- My dad felt sick because he had eaten too much at the restaurant.
