Dear sir,
I am truly sorry and very embarrassed about not handing my essay in by the deadline. I know you are eager to have all the essays handed in by February 7. During the last week I had had seven exams for the second semester and due to my sickness I was hospitalized for three days ( Medical Report Attached ) that is why I was left behind and I was obliged to double my efforts in revising for my exams . I have made every effort to hand my essay in by the deadline . Even though I am late , I hope you will accept to receive my essay and I hope that this incident will not effect my academic year achievements .
